Last year around this time we were counting down the last few months until Luke was born. Now we are getting ready for his first Christmas. The time is just flying by. We went for his 9 month check up this past Monday. They said that he is continuing to grow and everything looks great. He now weighs 26lbs 8oz and is 30.5 inches long. He only had to get 1 shot this time so that was a relief. He had his finger pricked to check for iron deficiency but they said he was fine. They also did a vision test where he had to wear a patch on alternate eyes and watch a video. They also stuck little electrodes on his head and he was not happy about this. He still does not have a lot of interest in watching TV, Videos, etc. so he did not really care too much for the video they were showing at the dr. office.
Thanksgiving was a lot of fun with our families. We went to Birmingham for Thursday and Friday and then went to Opp for Saturday and Sunday. Luke even braved the stores on Friday with us. He was such a trooper to go shopping at 6:30 am. Luke was able to spend time with all of his 6 cousins.. ages from 13 to 1 years old.
We are very excited for Luke's 1st Christmas! This Christmas is probably more for Jody and myself than for Luke. He will know some of what is going on but we will probably have more fun :) We are planning to take him to get his picture made with Santa this weekend. Stay tuned for those pictures to be posted.
Luke is acting like he wants to crawl. He will get up on all fours and then he will push back to a sitting position. He has also started to babble. He will say dadada, bababa, yayaya. It is so adorable. I keep working with him on mamama... but we are not there just yet.
