Luke is 2 years old!

Our little boy turned 2 this past week. It is crazy to think that we have a 2 year old! So much has happened in the last 2 years but it still seems like yesterday that we brought him home from the hospital. He has taught us so much about being parents, and how much you can truly love someone. He is so happy and that is such a blessing. He loves to laugh and have fun! He is constantly on the go and looking for new adventures. We had a fun day on Thursday for his birthday. Jody took off work and so when he woke up that morning we went into his room singing "Happy Birthday." If only we knew what was going threw his mind. I dont think he knew that it was his birthday just that it was a "fun" day. We went to Monkey Joes and had a blast! Being a weekday there were only a few other people there so we could really enjoy the slides! We then went to a restaurant called Construct a Burger. We ordered Luke chicken fingers and he did eat a few bites but his favorite part was the Birthday cake flavored ice cream! After a fun filled day it was time to go home for a nap.

Saturday was Luke's Birthday Party. We had rented our friends parents neighborhood clubhose- thank you Valencias!! We could not have asked for a prettier day.. it could have been warmer but so thankful for the sunshine. My mom had borrowed some ball pit toys and a blow up jumpy thing from her work... they were a huge hit with the kids. The theme was "Handy Manny"- Luke calls him Manny! We had planned the theme prior to realizing that Kroger/Publix cannot make a Handy Manny cake because of the copyright. I then started searching around for local cake decorators that could make a Handy Manny cake. The cake turned out perfect - It had a screen print image of Handy Manny and 2 of Manny's tools were made of fondant on the side. It was made by Dawn Davis of http://www.dawnbakescakes.com/. It was such a different experience with Luke and the cake this year. At his first birthday he would not put it near his mouth... this year he dug in! Luke really enjoyed his party and we are so thankful for all the friends and family that made it such a special day!
