We returned from DisneyWorld last Sunday and I have already started counting the days until we can return.. we dont have a trip planned but it was that much fun. It was a lot different than the 2 other trips we have taken. Those trips were prior to having kids and so we were all about the roller coasters and thrill rides. This time we were in a 2 year old mindset and I think we enjoyed it even more. We would get up early and get to the park before it opened. We would then stay until around 1pm and then go back to our hotel room for nap time. We would then go back to the parks around 5pm and stay for the evening parade/fireworks. It was a lot of stimulation for Luke but overall he did very well. He is not a fan of being woken up in the morning so that was a small challenge but he was always excited to go and see the rides, shows, characters, etc. I had read the Unofficial Guide to Disney with Kids and it was a huge help. It helped us to plan out each day and what to see at each park. It also helped us to avoid some of the lines. Jake stayed at the hotel with my mom and they would go on walks around the property or take the boat ride over to Downtown Disney. We decided to split the drive down into 2 days and that made for a more relaxing trip as well. We started our trip on Saturday, April 10th around 2pm.. arrived at our first stop around 8pm. We were delayed on leaving that morning because Jake was not acting like himself.. cough, runny nose, and not eating. I took him to the doctor and he had a right ear infection. Our poor little guy... only 3 months old and his first ear infection. We were prescribed amoxicyllin (sp) for 10 days. We arrived at our hotel... Port Orleans Resort- French Quarter by around 11:30 am on Sunday. We checked in.... took a while to unpack with all the supplies for 2 babies.. and then waited for the rest of the family to arrive. This was a trip with Jody's family so there were a total of 17 of us plus my mom which made 18. That night we went to Downtown Disney and all ate at Planet Hollywood. Monday was our first offiical park day...Magic Kingdom. It brought tears to my eyes to see how excited Luke was to see Mickey and Minnie that morning. They come out and open the park via the train and he yelled out "Mickey"... so precious!! He loved the parades and all the rides each day. The fireworks were also so much fun. The rest of the week schedule was as folllows: Tuesday- Animal Kingdom, Wednesday- Chef Mickey breakfast and Epcot that evening, Thursday- Hollywood Studios, and Friday- Breakfast at Cinderella's Castle and then our last day at Magic Kingdom. We spent Saturday morning packing up and hanging out at the hotel. We left around 1:30 and drove 1/2 way home. We arrived home on Sunday around 3pm. Luke loved all the characters and I really was not sure if they would scare him. They did not and he would give them big hugs. What a wonderful vacation with our family and all of Jody's family. The weather was beautiful and there was a cool breeze so it never was too hot at the parks. One thing is for sure....... Disney is not cheap! So if we are planning to go again soon we better start saving now :)
