* You can count to 13.... we practice counting going up the stairs and he picked this up on his own...
* You now say... "back"- when you want something again, you love to be carried around.. maybe because we are always carrying your brother but you will often say, " I want carry" and hang on my legs until I pick you up..
* You love to clean with your toy dust buster, vacuum, and paper towels
* You also love to fix things with your toy tools.. you will turn toys upside down and pretend to be fixing them
*Your latest is "kitchen"- you want me to come to your kitchen and to play pretend with you.. We will pretend someone calls in and places an order and then you will take it to them.. usually we take the food to daddy and he pretends that he is eating/drinking. He will tell you to "sit" "sit" and pat the floor
* You had your 3rd haircut this month and the curls are still there.. Every time I am so afraid they are going to disappear. If it was up to me we would probably skip the haircuts but daddy thinks the big hair is a little much :)
* We go to your eating therapy each Monday at 11am. This past week Jody came and we watched their approach to getting you to eat nonpreferred foods. We had been giving the food to you on your tray and they suggested we feed you each bite of food. If you eat a bite then you get a smiley face on your chart. After 5 smiley faces then you get to play a game.... like put shaving cream on elmo and he goes swimming :) This has helped in your frustration and wanting to throw your food on the ground because you dont like it. We still try to give you options... either you choose the food or if we have prepared something then you can choose the bowl and maybe a side item like applesauce and/or yogurt.
* In the bathtub the other night you took your crayons and pretended to write "a, b, c, d" and you said these letters out loud. We are amazed by the new things you learn each day
* You had a tough transition back to school after being out for a month( we had a week vacation and you stayed with both grandparents for a week) ... they said after being back for 2 weeks you are coming around... before you were sad and wanted mommy and daddy. Now you are playing more and interacting with the other kids more
* You often say "thank you" and "welcome" right after each other... it is precious.
* We have let you sit in the front seat of the car a few times and now you ask to "drive." The other day we were parked and you said " I want drive" and pointed to the front.
* Still working on the potty training.. you are progressing and having more dry diapers and asking to go potty... the m&m's are a good incentive... "chocolate" as you call it. You also get to put a star on the chart once you go.
