Last weekend was a girls weekend in Nashville. We had planned to run the Country Music 1/2 marathon and to make it into a girls weekend. There was a total of 9 girls that went. We all arrived on Friday and went to the Expo. Wow.. was it crowded! We then went to dinner that night and back to the hotel because we had to wake up at 4am to walk over to the finish line where the shuttles were taking you to the start line at 5am. We stayed at the Courtyard downtown and it turned out to be perfect. It was within walking distance of everywhere we needed to go. We did not get the cars out the whole weekend. It was a HOT race with lots of hills but we all finished and were all very proud of our accomplishment!! We rested up that afternoon and then went to dinner on Saturday night and then some of us went over to the Bridgestone Arena for the free concert. If you are a race participant your bib number allows you free access to the concert. It was Gloriana and Rodney Atkins and so we enjoyed it! It had been a long day so we left the concert early, went to a few stores looking at cowboy boots, got ice cream and made our way back to the hotel. Sunday we all tried to sleep in but 7:30 was about all we could do. We all went to eat brunch at Jackson's (love the outside patio) and headed home in our many different directions. We have plans to run the Fairhope 1/2 marathon in September and are looking forward to another fun time together!
